I have know John for 50 years, I was married to his older brother Phil.
These are just a couple of stories that make me laugh. Way before I had Emily and was quite a new Christian, John had this theory that God didn't put Dinosaurs on this earth as actual living creatures but just put their bones in the ground!
He once bought a cheap tape measure (probably from the £1 shop) measured quite a bit with it and was always confused as everything was the wrong size. Anyway he looked at the tape measure one day and realised it started from 1 inch and not 0!
He went on a measure once and had forgotten his tape measure, I think it must have been bi-folds or similar so he stepped out the length as he knew that one of his strides was a yard (Or metre in new money).
This same man was one of the kindest people I know. When Phil died he made sure I had a job by creating one for me at Lewes and Johnsons Glass. I had to work a certain amount of hours and had to earn a specific sum of money, so John gave me those hours and gave me the money I needed. (there wasn't a widows pension available to me as Phil had never accrued enough working hours.)
Love you John, Sharon and your amazing boys!
